FACTS OVER FICTION: Hon. Salihu Ayuba Musa’s Achievements in Kanam LGA

The proliferation of social media has given rise to armchair activism, where individuals often prioritize rhetoric over facts and respect for others’ rights. I’d like to reach out to those who’ve been misled about the Kanam Local Government Area. For those familiar with development projects and their timelines, let’s have a nuanced discussion that separates fact from fiction.

Certain individuals are attempting to distort the truth about the Kanam Local Government Council’s progress under Hon. Salihu Ayuba Musa’s leadership. However, the facts speak for themselves: within just 100 days, Hon. Musa has delivered impressive results that outshine the achievements of his predecessors, demonstrating his commitment to effective governance.

Hon. Salihu Ayuba Musa’s remarkable progress within his inaugural 100 days has sparked interest among his counterparts. The construction of two three-classroom blocks in Bakin Kasauwa, Namaran Ward, stands out as a notable achievement. When compared to his predecessors, Hon. Musa’s accomplishments in his first 100 days surpass what many achieved during their initial periods in office.

Anyone questioning Hon. Salihu Ayuba Musa’s achievements should visit Gagdi Primary Healthcare Centre, where a modern medical facility now stands. This is a significant upgrade from the outdated, colonial-era structure that was on the verge of collapse. Thanks to the Council Chairman’s intervention, the health facility has been transformed into a state-of-the-art medical centre.

Under Hon. Salihu Ayuba Musa’s leadership, the Kanam Local Government Council has intensified security efforts, particularly through the collaborative inter-border patrol initiative with Bauchi, Taraba, Wase, and Kanam. This operation seeks to address the pressing issues of insurgency, kidnapping, and terrorism in our area. We encourage our community members to be proactive in reporting unusual activities, acknowledging that security is a shared responsibility that requires everyone’s participation.

Hon. Ayuba’s initiatives within his inaugural 100 days have yielded notable results, including the upgrading of the Kanam Local Government Council secretariat’s perimeter fencing and meticulous maintenance of the premises by tilling the whole secretariat premises. These improvements have given the Council a fresh, modern appearance, reflecting positively on the leadership.

Hon. Salihu Ayuba Musa prioritizes education, recognizing its importance for the future of Kanam’s youth. This commitment is evident in his initiatives, including sponsoring over 500 prospective candidates to take the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board examinations. He covered examination fees and provided transportation to various centers in Bauchi, Jos, Pankshin, Wase, and Shendam. Additionally, he offered the “A” Level students free transportation back to their schools, alleviating some financial burden on parents during a challenging time.

The International College of Languages in Dengi also benefited from Hon. Ayuba’s education empowerment initiative. He personally covered the Senior Secondary Certificate of Education (SSCE) registration fees for 15 students who won a trophy in a drama and poetry competition sponsored by the French Embassy. When the students asked what they could do for them, one student requested that he cover their SSCE registration fees, which Hon. Ayuba promptly granted. This gesture exemplifies his passion for education.

In response to a cholera outbreak in Kwalmiya, Hon. Salihu Ayuba Musa, Chairman of Kanam Local Government Council, took immediate action. He supplied medical kits and medication, effectively containing the spread of the disease. Additionally, he dispatched medical experts and a sensitization team to enlighten the community on proper health practices. His timely intervention underscores his dedication to protecting the well-being of Kanam’s residents.

Hon. Salihu Ayuba Musa’s commitment to holistic development is evident in his various initiatives. In addition to advancements in education, health, and infrastructure, he has provided financial empowerment to 20 individuals, each receiving N20,000. A key aspect of his leadership is the non-partisan approach, where assistance is provided based on need rather than religious or political considerations.

With significant progress in education, health, infrastructure, and economic empowerment within a short span, it’s pertinent to question areas where Hon. Salihu Ayuba Musa may have come up short. We invite a critical assessment of his achievements, focusing on facts and feasibility. Constructive engagement can foster a more informed discussion about his initiatives.

We anticipate even more progress under the ‘Time is Now’ administration, led by Governor Mutfwang. With a strong vision and leadership, the stage is set for numerous developmental projects to flourish before the end of its term.

E-Signed,

Ibrahim Yusuf Dembo

    God bless him
  • I applauded his few achievements but, it will never be compared to those who came before him. Every chairman or political leader will be addressed the best during his tenure. Please do inform him that we have some projects inside Dengi that need his attention. I’m saying this not because I hate him, rather i demand more from him not just few 6-7 photos. We need water, culverts, security and many more. I’m leaving my email to assist you in terms of reaching me to outline more issues that the chairman need to look into to provide solutions and to make name for himself. Thank you.
